Atlantic Highlands - This free, family-friendly festival screens 40+ of the ‘best of the best’ short films from over 400 entries from 55 countries. It is a perfect summer evening held under the stars on the great lawn of the Atlantic Highlands Marina, from 6-11pm, and also includes family entertainment, live music, and arts and food vendors. Area favorites The Sam Sims Band headline at 7:30pm. At 9 pm, the main screening begins, on a giant, state-of-the-art digital screen. Judges choose award-winners, and there will be real-time voting for the Audience Choice award. Food pantry donations encouraged. Rain date: July 16. www.filmonefest.org.
