Yoga instructor Vanessa Van Noy will be hosting this special Headstand for Hunger Sound Off Yoga event, “Sound Off for Hunger” on Tuesday, August 1 from 6:30pm-8:00pm at One Chelsea Avenue in Pier Village.
This is the first time Sound Off Yoga will be without a ceiling, allowing the participant to do yoga under the setting sun with the breeze on their face and music in their ears. Everyone participating will wear a pair of wireless headphones, through which Vanessa’s cues as well as the music will calmly stream into their ears. Sound Off Yoga allows participants full immersion in the practice with no outside distractions, even in the middle of a crowd. This is a truly unique way to enjoy yoga and help do some good.
Tickets are $40, plus a donation of peanut butter and jelly in plastic jars. This donation is requested to help stock the shelves of FULFILL Monmouth & Ocean counties (formally the Foodbank of Monmouth and Ocean Counties).
Every summer kids go hungry, even right here in our communities. Many children who have the benefit of a free lunch during the school year do not have this meal offered during the summer months. FUFILL provides 142,000 meals through backpack, after-school and summer food programs. Because of this need, every summer Fulfill is in need of kid-friendly foods and peanut butter and jelly tops the list.
